NEW YORK CITY ! ! ! ! !
Oh Wow! What a Show! I just got home a few hours ago and only had 387 e-mails to download and read. I have a bunch of photos to share and will attempt to upload them over the next few days. We had a major American Tomahawk Blast. Being along side Andy Prisco and these wonderful people was an honor and a real privilege.
(Charly Humelbaugh, Vance Perkins, Amy J Prisco, C.J. Caracci, and Robert Humelbaugh)
Well, well, an actual photo of the ATC Table(s) crowded with people all wanting to see and handle the vast collection of hawks and carry systems. You had your choice; you could discuss Hawks, knives, carry options & materials, hawk & knife throwing, and self defense techniques with an Army Ranger, A Marine, and A Navy Seal. C.J. Caracci is a true gentleman, funny as the dickens, humble, and is extremely good at what he does.
I spent a lot of time chatting with the four beautiful ladies within the ATC group. Hey, I picked up a few good tips on hawk throwing and lipstick. It just don't get any better....
Having the world renoun knife and tomahawk designer Paul Ehler around was an added pleasure. He was available to discuss his axotic design for "Max" the Mini-Ax with several buyers. He is shown here with two of the cutest women alive, Jennifer Gingrich and Amy J. It was fun to watch a buyer handle the Mini-Ax (Max), talk to Paul about his design, talk to Ranger Gingrich and CJ Caracci about CQB, then see Rob fit them for a custom carry rig suited just for their needs. No wonder we ran out.
Several friends from the forums came buy to handle the hawks and visit. Formites could pick a BladeFroums name tag at the ATC tables. Posing with "Island Cher" was an added extra. Does Andy know customer service or what....
Robert Humelbaugh (Humble-Bob) and Justin Gingrich provided the crew with hours of information on carry options, personal knife show first aid, new ideas, and a full length skit at dinner entitled "Andy Called Me Last Night". There was no shortage of laughter with this crew.
Say what you what, but I was there. I saw several NYPD uniforms at the ATC table, handling the Next Generation & Vietnam Tactical as well as treating Andy like he was running for mayor. Policemen, Firemen, Bodyguards, and other Military and Government service agents stopped by to check out the hawks. Don't mess with them, they could be sporting a Max or a Vietnam tactical hawk under thier jackets. At the restaurant Saturday night, the V-Man discovered he was still wearing a hawk under his jacket. He had forgotten about it since it was so comfortable riding in one of the shoulder rigs from Survival Sheaths. I had to bring one home with me.
Fun was the overall theme for the weekend. We laughed, heckled, ran through traffic, bow-hunted for the elusive candle, ate, ate some more, and laughed some more. One good thing, we had a lot less weight to carry down Sunday evening than we had to lug up Friday morning. Thanks to all the people that purchased new Tomahawks at the show, you saved us a lot of work.
Everyone at the show was great. I had another chance to warp New York City with my special brand of humor. I met so many good people and beautiful women. Jennifer Gingrich, (A true Ranger Wife) and Charyl Humelbaugh (Island Cher) were seen here pondering thier misfortune in marrying a couple great guys and skillful soldiers while someone like Melvin was out there entirely unknown to them at the time. Well you win some and you lose some, ladies. (Yes, I actually took some pictures of the hawks.)
Andy & Amy Prisco are two of the greatest people alive. They are such wonderful and thoughtful hosts. They not only had us in their home and made all the arrangements for the show. They set up tours of the city, pre-arranged three special dinners, transportation, hotel arrangements, and even a special "Sopranos" tour for yours truly. I thank them and I am sure the entire ATC family thanks them.
Thanks and I am going to bed, but I'm sure Andy is awake filling orders and working on new stuff..... Melvin
