In the 90tys Schrade made a 3 bladed stockman under the tang you mention. I do not know what other patterns they may have made during that period however to the best of my knowledge they all had the stag bone handles. These were sold by smokey mountain. I believe the stag handles to have been stagged bone versus stag horn. I also believe that the tang marking either belongs to Schrade or a very well known member of the knife community who's name I am not at liberty to mention. In any event they were made by Schrade and are quite distinctive. The shields on these almost appear pasted on the handles. Recently however Schrade has made a series in the muskrat pattern which has jigged bone handles crimped bolsters and two turkish clip blades one of which is etched with 1852 and 2002 ( 1852 is when the original New York Knife company began production in Mattewan NY, now called Beacon, they moved to Walden NY in 1854. ) It also has a regular excellant quality shield. They both carry the same tang marking.
The value on either of these knives is 25 to 40 dollars. I have included a picture of both styles of knives. Good Hunting LT
