I would like to thank Tim Galyean for being a man of his word, and customizing a Giants-themed JYD2 for me!
After the Giants easily dispatched the Cowboys, then not so easily beat the Packers, custom knife-maker Tim Galyean promised/bet me that if the Big Blue Wrecking Crew won the Superbowl he would make me a Giants knife. Two weeks later, Eli "REAL DEAL" Manning won the Superbowl. Today, I got a hand-madeTitanium Handled JYD2 with a CPMD2/154CM composite blade. The GIANTS and MILLS 08 logo is anodized into the handle, along with the anodized rivet pattern that we all love! The wording is blue, but it looks metallic, and varies in the light. Tim also did a great job with the blade edge, and it feels a little more acute than the Sandvik JYD2 (although ALL the composite JYDs might be more acutely edged). This knife is sharp as a scalpel, and the flipper action is FAST! It is also much lighter than it looks, and will spend a lot of time with me.
I can't thank Tim enough. Y'all mark my words: Tim Galyean is going to be the next Ken Onion! We already love every Galyean/Kershaw collaboration and want more!
Thank you Tim for your extreme generosity and I hope my wife lets me go to Blade in Atlanta this year so we can meet!
Here are the first of MANY pics to come: I took more photos of this knife today than I did of my son when he was born!
Oh yeah, and I got a RAM today! It is cool, but compared to the above knife...I better give it its own thread.
