Just aquired one of these small all steel folders, Fancy New York Knife Co scroll on one side, with a picture of the old factory on the other. Can anyone tell me, How much they were new, what type of metal the scales are made of, and how many were in the production run.

Thanks

Hiya Rusty! Thanks for bringing your knife question to us. I am sure LT has one of these, he can answer the question of what the handles are made of. All my references tell me about the knife are: 5,000 made in 1976 and the price was $28. Help us here, Rusty... what did you have to pay for it?

I do not know on the metal but I would guess a ( lightly) brushed stainless. These have not appreciated to what you might think they should have 5000 is a fair sized issue. I do not know what you paid so I will not offer a present price. I know that to me 50 to 75 bucks would really be tip top money. Although i have seen them go for more. Here are a couple of pics. It is a nice momento and will appreciate because I do not see anyone else making this type of thing. To commerate these companies or Walden. LT

Interesting knives and good pictures LT. Yet another I had not seen. Any idea who it is that owns the NYKC trademarks, and when the later ones were made? I know TBLLC owns the hammer brand marks, but I was under the impression that someone else had bought the NYKC trademarks years ago. Is it a Parker property?

I actually paid $65.00, The knife is in mint condition in box with serial number paperwork, I thought it might of been a bit high, but the condition made the sale, I'm happy with the purchase, there is another on bid at the moment on e-bay, item number 6615942089, take a look. Thanks guy's for your information so far,

I have just noticed that on the pictures LT posted, that there seems to be no inscription on the blades, I wonder if they made some with and some without?, My knife is the same version as tho one on bid at the moment on e-by, 6615942089. Walden bi-centennial on the main blade and Everlastingly sharp trade mark on the small blade.

this time i'll sign off.......Rusty 1
