Duane from EDC Knives suggested I do something a little fancier than usual for him to take to the New York show and this is what I came up with. I'm pretty excited about how it all came together -- it has been a rough knife making week (stuff just going wrong over and over), so this made my day.
The "Gentleman's Swoop" was my first dovetailed bolster framelock, but this one is the first one I've done with both sides bolstered up (and I really haven't made a linerlock in awhile either.
). The bolsters are made out of the "trashcan damascus" and the liners are .070 ti that has an orange-peel finish. The W-2 blade is about .185 thick and has a 2 1/2-inch cutting edge. Open; the folder is 6 1/2 inches and is 3 3/4-inches closed. The backspacer and thumbstud (getting better on the lathe
), are made out a low-layer damascus.
Thanks for checking it out.
