Here's a New York Special I just finished up:

P1030631.jpg

P1030638.jpg

Specifications:

Overall: 7"

Blade Length: 3"

Steel: Mirror polished Sandvik 12C27 blade heat treated to HRC 61 with a tapered tang.

Scales: Desert Ironwood Burl w/ thin red liners

Guard and Fittings: 410 Stainless (Soldered Guard)

This one has the new style of sheath that the Loveless shop is using for their NYS's.

Thanks for looking!

it would be great to get a bit bigger photo to ogle. Wanna see them details that I'm hearing you're famous for.

And I want the knife to ogle, personally, Lorien. I'll try and see if I can get an even bigger image of it, once it arrives in the mail. This was an order from Marcus and by the looks of what I have been seeing in his WIP's to me, I am gonna love it.

Best,

Bob Betzner

oh Bob- you're addicted eh?:D

Yeah, Lorien, I've run across some really nice NYS's that I bought, kinda putting together a collection (something of a departure from my "norm"). Different materials, different styles (not that different, though) - but ones that really knock me out. I'm looking forward to this particular package from Marcus.

That's a nice looking New York Special. I've always admired that pattern. I like the sheath also.

Bob, I noticed:D I too have a stirring in the loins for that NYS design.
I don't think I've ever seen a more elegant and purposeful defence knife design. Loveless definitely has it nailed, and the versions that I've seen you acquire so far would do the man proud:thumbup:

Wowza !!

You've become a master of the Loveless style knife

Doesn't matter what model it is, you nail it !

Very, very nice work Marcus :)

Thanks for the comments everyone!

Thank you for the business Bob, you should be receiving the knife today. :)

Looks good Marcus,

How did the 410 SS work on the guard, did it polish and solder well?

Take care

Charles

Hey Charles,

410 works very well -seems to solder easier than 416. Polishing is similar. I purchase it from Mcmaster-Carr, they even have precision ground stock which makes life a bit easier.

Thanks!

My newest NYS arrived today. What a beauty, too. The first image that Marcus posted to start this thread is precisely what it looks like in person - and just what I was hoping for, too. A great addition to my new, little group of NYS's.

Folks, Marcus makes a BEAUTY of a knife, with a mirror finish that dazzles. And the fit and finish, outstanding!

Best,

Bob Betzner

Another beauty from Marcus. I got one of these coming pretty soon, it's the next one on the list just after I get my Loveless style boot knife which he is making for me right now.

You know yer killin' me with these posts......OUTSTANDING!!!!!!!! :D

Is a very good little design.
Got to handle a nice amber stag one from the Loveless Shop and one from Thad Buchanan at Blade Show. Both were extremely nice. Actually purchased the Buchanan for someone overseas.

Got a nice one there Bob, congrats.

Thank you for all the positive comments everyone.

Hey Rick, just sent you an e-mail yesterday ... have something special in the works for you (and it has to do with my new horizontal mill). ;)
