I get the national edition of the New York Times. Today, on Sunday, the paper carried a story on knife rights as a growing movement.
While the story was not perfect from our standpoint, it did explain many of our arguments, and included pungent quotes.
I consider this quite positive, and a big positive at that. While newspapers are nowhere near as influential as they used to be, certain facts remain true:
--Sunday newpaper circulation is way higher than during the week
--I haven't checked in a while, but I believe the Times has the highest circulation of any Sunday newspaper in the country. It also has one of the highest national circulations.
--the article was on the front page! And the carry over was on the first subsequent news page, not buried deep inside.
All in all, I consider this very good news.
