Hey Folks- :)

Here's the latest. Actually finished it a few days ago, but just had time to take pics/video.

Description is in the video, but if you don't want to watch it--- The blade was forged down from W2 round stock, has as-forged flats, differentially hardened with time&temp, 1200X hand sanded bevels, fully rounded spine & choil, 416 ss guard with 600X satin finish and domed 416 ss pin. Handle is stabilized Bubinga Pomelle from Alpha Knife Supply.

OAL- 13-7/8"
Blade- 9-1/16"L x 1-7/16"W x 0.275" thick at the guard

Thanks for checking it out! :)

Nice. The knife looks "smaller" than the dimensions. If you had not posted a length, I would have guessed a 7 inch fighter.

I seem to feel that good handles on a knife make the blade look less massive. (By "good" I mean my 2xl large hands will fit comfortably).

I really like the makers mark on the rounded spine.

Nick, I wanted to comment before This thread gets to 8 pages;) I like this style a lot, very pointy. Fit and finish at the top of the game as usual. Miss seeing you at the shows. Maybe Atlanta?

that is certainly one fantastic looking knife! And that wood is gorgeous.

I'm morally not a big fan of recurves but that is nice. I think it's the dropped down point, reminds me of the recurves that Tad would do. Ya just know that would do some serious biting if you asked it to. Really tidy work as per usual Mr. Wheeler.

Very cool, especially with the long clip!

Bubinga is great stuff, and that is a particularly nice piece

Thanks guys! :)

I have been taking almost all of my clip grinds down to sharp lately, but I have gotten quite a few messages from guys saying they can't legally carry a knife with a double edge where they live... so I thought it would be a good idea to throw one in the mix that was just a false edge.

Gary- I miss going to them and seeing all you guys!!! I'm hoping to at least come up to Bill and Daniel's Seattle show... if not have a table. :)

Thanks fellas. :)

Another beauty, Nick. Love the contrast on the blade and a great Fighter all around. :)

Looks like the pin is a little off center and also a little small.:D:thumbup:

actually, speaking of constructive critique... I don't see how this knife would be greatly effective in demobilizing dead, reanimated humans.

I'm reading World War Z right now, so I consider myself somewhat of an expert.

I think the pattern I sent to you would be far superior for deanimating zombies. That's a speculative comment, however, I think you'll find that a *ahem* head to head test would bear out my hypothesis.
:)

I am no zombie expert, but if all you do is take their head off, this one will do. Although I would prefer a little more weight foward for beheading.

Thanks guys! :)

Nick you've been crankin' 'em out of late. Nice job!
BTW, speaking of "legally" carrying, here in Texas you cannot legally carry a Bowie. Go figure.

Beautiful knife Nick!

I understand some people being wary of laws prohibiting double edged blades, but I suspect that most of the States that have those provisions limit the overall length of a blade anyway (usually to somewhere around 4 inches).

By the way, if for any reason you get the urge to smash up this knife, feel free to send it to me for proper "disposal" instead. :D

the crowned spine with the mark is really classy.
