New ZT 0808BLK question

Hello everybody, I need some advice about the new Zero Tolerance 0808BLK and was hoping that someone else on this site has received one yet. I have bought probably 50 ZTs, brand new from authorized dealers, and never had a problem until today. I was really looking forward to this new sprint run but I think I got a lemon.
First thing I noticed was a rust spot on the pivot (show side). That didn’t bother me too much until I flipped the knife and found that it had a very “gritty” feel, opening and closing, despite the blade being a little loose. I tightened it a spec so there’s no more blade play, but it’s not half as smooth as the original 0808. I’m wondering if it has anything to do with the DLC coating? If anyone has bought one of these I would greatly appreciate your feedback, because I don’t know if I should send it back or not. Thanks for your help, Tony

They are a little less smooth than the original, but not by much at all. The rust spot on the pivot would concern me greatly if I were you. If there is rust on the pivot then what is going on behind the pivot. I don't know where you got it from, but if you got it from us, I would want to know about it and would set up an exchange. I would definitely contact your dealer ASAP. This sprint run was a much smaller sprint run than normal. We are almost out of stock and I know a lot of dealers are either low or out of stock as well, so an exchange at some dealers may not be able to happen. Hate hearing something is wrong with a ZT. Problems like this are very very rare. Good luck!

Thanks for the advice, I will definately email them now and see if I can exchange it. And believe me, I know how rare this is too, this is the first bad ZT I’ve ever gotten, I always recommend them in threads or to people I know.
