New ZT bayonet! (ST-9 Strider collaboration)

I have a feeling that the price tag will hold it down. That's about double the price of the m9 bayonet.

I can see the reasoning. A good utility fixed blade knife that can also be used as a bayonet. But at that price tag?

For soldiers yes, perhaps that would be a little much. But an S30V fixed blade for us outdoorsmen? I'd be in for one! (Taking off the lug mount of course)

The new SCARs being developed (Sig and FN) at this time will not have a bayonet lug. So this bayonet will have to be used on the M-16 until it is phased out. A bayonet on the M-4 with a folding stock does not give you much advantage. I you are out of ammo and have to use a bayonet your a@@ is SOL.

What he said. But if you're going to issue a bayonet, it makes sense to issue one that can actually be used as a knife, for the 99.999999% of the time when a soldier isn't using his bayonet as a bayonet.

The current issue M9 is fairly useless as a knife, IMO. This one looks awful nice.

While the Army doesn't care much about bayonets, IIRC the Marine Corps still issue them. Why? Don't ask me, as the Corps.

Awesome. That the coolest bayonet I've ever see, wit han msrp of under $200????

They should make a kalash version.

Ran out of ammo more than once and did use the bayonet. Still here so guess it was worth it.

Military should go back to 1095 for the bayonet. S30V for a bayonet? Not tough enough I would think. Expensive eye candy.

I know this is heretical, but I'd rather have the military spend that money on upgrading (or whatever it is they do) the rifles the soldiers actually use in combat.

anything that cost way too much for the ordinary citizen would certainly be instead more ideally suited for competition in some form of foreign government tender.
effects of which a huge foreign military sales could then perhaps help a said manufacturer to consider including a domestic spinoff line featuring the very same product model with a reduced domestic retail pricing...
but seriously, almost everyone would rather ask for a good pair of hi-tech self-cleaning thermal underwear.
