I saw on the ZT 0888 that is has a sliding clip for left or right hand carry. I believe it is on some other newer ZT's, but not on any out yet. Does anyone have any more details on this? Cool idea to have it slide back and forth, but I am more interested to know if it can become completely flush with the handle such that when you hold it you cannot even feel the clip. That would be an awesome innovation, like a clip when you need it clipped to something, and no clip for comfort's sake.

I believe from what I have seen and had expalined to me, It just slides from side to side and does not become flush like you were wondering about. That would be and interesting design to see someone pull off though!

It would be awesome, have you ever tried taking your clips off and feeling how much more ergonomical some knives can feel w/out the clip getting in your way? It wouldn't matter for all knives, but worth it for others.

I have a few I have thought about it with, dress type knives usually.

I really love how knives feel without clips. So much more ergonomic. I main reason I don't really dig Benchmade mini grips is because the clip is so huge and it makes holding the knife very uncomfortable.

I see what you are saying, but if you look at this one, it does look like the clip has been slid over to be flush with the handle. http://www.flickr.com/photos/gbkneedeep/7470855178/in/photostream/

And here it is protruding

Could just be an illusion though. Those are some nice pictures of it.

You can't see it protruding in the first pic because it is protruding on the lock side, in the second picture you see it protruding because it is a picture of the lock side

Ok, I think I finally get the whole picture now, it is kind of two clips in one, you only get to use one at a time, depending on where you slide it. It would be cool if you did some kind of spring loaded clip similar to that that stayed flush until you pushed a button on the butt of the knife to push it out only when you needed to clip it to something. The spring would apply the tension to keep the clipped pressed against your pocket. Maybe a bit complex, and end up too large to fit down in the butt of a handle, but it would be worth it to have a knife that felt like it had no clip.
