New ZT0300

i just got a ZT0300, is it over kill to get it sharpened out of the box? i haven't even used it yet, one of the local shops has a 10,000 grit water-stone, any input would be helpful

ZTs come very sharp. I suppose they could always get sharper, though.

Mine was really sharp out of the box but now it's even sharper.

mine got hust some (dry) stropping on leather, already nice sharp edge that it's still there after some use

I got one about a month ago. It wasn't the sharpest knife I have ever gotten new. I don't mind though,I like sharpening my knives. Sharpening a recurve will be new to me.

The Spyderco Sharpmaker is great for sharpening recurve blades...That's what I use with my ZT 0301.
