Newb buying spyderco

I wouldn't want to pay $10 on shipping for a small single knife like that in the US, but I see you're in Canada so it may be a decent cost. Otherwise, $40 seems to be the "standard cheap" price for a Delica that I've seen. If the reserve isn't too high, it would really be a deal.
 
That is not a bad deal but...I would suggest looking into buying a Delica 4.

If you don't already know, it is their new version of the delica. It has a 4 position clip, nested steel liner, stronger tip, & it can be taken apart. I think that you can find one for about $45 shipped on the Bay right now.

If you're going to spend $40 you should check out the Delica 4, it's improved and costs the same.

Hi there fellow Canuk

While I've gotten some great deals off eBay on Spyderco's, more often than not the extra S&H and sometimes customs can double the price of a knive coming from the states :( Use USPS if possible, best shipping to Canada, AVOID and I do mean AVOID UPS ! ! !

My advice, if it's a spyderco you seek go down to the local knife shop and hang about. More often than not there will be a few models that have overstayed their welcome. Being nice to the salesman never hurts and can drop the price even more.

Finally, if you're new to the world of Spydercos don't be afraid to try a wierd looking one . . . most if not all are wierd looking :D but they all share one trait. They flat out WORK ! ! ! I bought a Dodo even though it was a very, very odd looking knife. One of the best small Spyies of all time IMHO :thumbup:

For very little more than the cost of that knife, you can buy a Delica 4 and I would go that route, were I you.
 
Agreed on the Delica 4 - there are several vendors in Canada that have them and can ship. Target Knives here in Calgary as well as sworddepot in Saskatoon have them. I would think Rowland at Target Knives would be the fastest - he has them in stock and on the shelf - I bought two Delica 4's a couple of weeks ago. Sworddepot ships Expedited post, so it's going to cost about $14.00CDN to ship. I bought a Delica 4 plus some other stuff there. IIRC, they are about $80 CDN, so you are looking at about $95 CDN all said and done. Interestingly, Rowland has his new stock Spydies REALLY low right now - you should be able to get it for less than $80 shipped:) I know that Target has both PE and combo edge Delica 4's there. Sworddepot has a lot as well, but it will take a bit longer.

Could you guys tell me the name of the new of the delica 4 that has a plain edge like the one that I was looking at?
oh yeah and one more thing if there is a delica 4 plain edge could you guys give me a site
