Hey guys-
I've lurked around here for quite a while, but I'm finally trying to get serious about making some knives, so I signed up and decided I try to get a little more active.
I made my first sharp object a few years ago, from a lawn mower blade. Since then, I started up a small time Kydex shop in my spare time (I'm a full time LEO for my "real job") but deep down I really want to get into blade smithing. Since I've been buying from knife making places, I've started sneaking a blade blank/ kit or two in with every plastic order. Hopefully the next time I order I'm going to get a piece of steel and work on some designs of my own.
Anyway, that's enough about me, thank you guys for the wealth of information here, and for sharing your knowledge.
Just because I'm proud of my most recent project, here is a kit blade that I worked up earlier tonight... KnifeKits.com drop point tactical 440C blade, homemade burlap micarta, homemade red and blue liners.
