Hi,

Just got my CCW and was looking for a really nice fixed blade knife (allowable here with CCW). I have already spent a great deal of time picking out the rest of my CCW rig, and just need that perfect knife. I would like to carry it concealed, in the most comfortable manner possible. I guess the theme would be great quality, matches my other stuff pictured below, and comfortable. Oh, also thinking of carrying in the appendix position but open to ideas. Thoughts? Thanks in advance! :)

the biggest size i can really carry comfortably. Id like to keep it under 400 but we'll see what happens. And a nice thin handle. My theme is thin too.

Also, if anyone is interested in buying this microtech scarab i have (pictured above). i bought it new and carried it for 3 weeks. never used the blade for ANYTHING. Just about 50 OCD deploys or so, couldn't resist on an OTF. It looks mint and has always worked flawless. knife really exceeded my expectations. but im looking for a fixed blade now, and not interested in a collection. just the best knife for what i happen to need at the time. im in central florida.

Thanks guys. Yes im allowed to carry daggers. is this good? should i be looking at them? i can carry any kind of knife in eny length as long as its not a "ballistic knife" that shoots out the blade or something. That winkler knife looks nice!

Even if it was legal to carry where I live, I wouldn't carry a double-edged knife. I think that its usefulness decreases in the various things I may use a knife. I wouldn't be able put a finger on the spine or hold it safely in other ways (say, if I was doing a little whittling or food work).

In my opinion, if this is going to be simply a concealed carry knife as a last-ditch effort when your firearm can't be used, I would stick with something like a Ka-Bar TDI or other similar purpose-designed knives. If you're going for a fixed-blade that is concealed, but will also be your go-to knife for normal chores, then an Izula or another similar small, thin knife will probably be fine.

The Cold Steel Peace Keeper 1 might be a good dagger for that because it has a pretty slim sheath and design in general.

You're not bat man, stick with that auto or a get a Ka Bar TDI and carry it in your pocket.

The Spyderco Street Beat is very nice and can be used to defend your pistol or as a primary knife. Longer sharper penetrator than the Izula for e.g. and very classy Fred Perrin design. :)

Comes with a removeable "G-clip" on back of sheath for many mounting positions or just clip it iWB - that's how I carried mine.

+1 Great choice for CCW addition.

Might have a trade for you on the Scarab. Email me.

Thanks,

take a look at the maker's gallery and the customs for sale.
If you're not in a hurry, there are some great knife makers on this site who will build a knife to your spec so long as it's not a blatant ripoff of another maker's design.
with luck, you'll even find one close to home.

I was going to suggest the ZT 0150, but I think that having a maker make your dream knife would be a better idea. you can get something you love and feel proud about the design.
