Hi Folks,
I recently purchased a Strider folder with a G-10 handle and back spacer. I’m new to all things Strider, and I’m curious how durable it will be? I’m not an engineer, so I have no idea how the material will be over the long-run. All replies are appreciated.
Thanks,
D

G-10 is very durable but not indestructible. I once dropped a knife on tile and the G-10 handle scale split a bit, parallel to the blade, but it's still perfectly usable. You're not going to break it by squeezing the knife hard if that's what you mean.

"G10" consists of glass fabric plies set in epoxy resin. The exact properties vary somewhat depending on which epoxy resin formulation was used. But all G10 is extremely robust.

Don’t hit it with a hammer but aside from that I wouldn’t think about it whatsoever.

Fire not so good either :)
But is a strong matterial and the OP should have no problem under any reasonable and some not so reasonable circumstance

This is mine after almost 16 years of no special care and normal to heavy use. This is the only knife I ever have on me unless I have to dress for a special occasion. Father's funeral; had it on me. The handle holds up well. To get the G-10 to smooth out a little took over a decade for it even to start appearing. This is also going from -40 to 120's with every kind of oil, lubricant/grease. It's been used in a lot of sand and dirt being rubbed into it all over. Holds up fine with just dawn and hot water.

Can we see a shot of the knife open as well? I'm intrigued!

I have knives with G10 handles that I’ve had for years and have used extensively. They are still doing fine.

G10 is impervious to chemicals, weather, and most hard use (not abuse). It will probably outlast you.
