I just got my new SE Salt 1 in the mail. Such a neat little knife. I need to move the clip over to the other side for LH carry. I'd hate to mar up the nice black screw holding the clip in place. Is there a specific coin (like a penny or a nickel) or tool that will do the best job? I as going to use a flat head screwdriver, but it seems like the bottom of the slot is slightly dished to accommodate a coin.

I believe they were designed to work with a U.S. Dime perfectly or some other coin, a penny perhaps.

If you press the tip of your thumbs together hard enough on the corresponding ends of the screw and twist they will come apart.

Tried pressing and twisting. They are on too tight for that, at least on my example.

Hmmm, really? That doesn't sound too secure.

A penny would probably mar the finish less than a dime. I don't have my Salt 1 yet. If it is loose enough to open with your thumbs, I would tighten it down after moving it.

I got the best fit with a nickel, one on each side. Penny, dime and quarter were slightly looser. Worked great BTW, no marks on the screw, got it adjusted nice and tight.

Yep.

Best to use older nickels too. Seems like the new ones aren't properly heat treated or something because the screws chew them up. :p
