I haven't bought my first SR yet, but really like the sound of the BR. However, due to it's size/weight, I'm not sure I would use it as often as I fantasize.

I can't find the specs on the Desert Jack anywhere?! Not in Bladeforum, knifeforum, swamp site, etc. It looks like something I might use more, due to the size, so that begs the next question:

Are the Ratweiler and Desert Jack the same knife with different coating/micarta? They look very similiar, but the photos seem to represent the Desert Jack as having a slimmer grip. True?

Why, also, did the Desert Jack overrun / used market seem to make them more inexpensive than the Ratweiler?

TIA

straight from eric's post:

"The Desert Jack has an overall length of 11.5” and features a 6” blade of 3/16” thick differentially hardened SR-101. The handle is Tan Canvas Micarta."

the RW is 1/4" thick diff. tempered SR-101. 7.5" blade length.

basically the DJ is a swamp rat version of the Busse Satin Jack. The RW is a "tactical" version of the Camp Tramp which of course is based on the Busse Steel Heart.

basically: RW bigger, DJ smaller. different blades.
