Hey guys, firstly, let me briefly state that over the last few days I have been browsing this forum looking for advice on a knife to purchase. While I have gathered an array of information, I am still uncertain on which knife that would best suit what I am looking for.

As the title refers, I am a newbie and I don't want to fall prey to deciding upon a knife that only looks mean or badass. I want a knife, or a tool in that matter, to be able to do a number of different things. I want my knife to be able to double as a screwdriver, box-cutter, cut carpet, whittle wood, skewer meat, peel my apple, etc.

I am preferably going with a folder and based on the information I have gathered I am stuck between three. Benchmade Griptilian, ZT200 and a Camillus Cuda Maxx. Any help or insight or any other knives you wish to bring to my attention is greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!

I would also like to add: Should I purchase the blade I decide on directly from the maker's website? I noticed the prices seem a lot more expensive there, i.e, Benchmade. Thanks again

For what you want to do you might want to look into a Leatherman's tool or a Victorinox swiss army knife since they've got the screwdrivers included in the design. Trying to do so with just the blade is a good way to damage the edge.

Welcome.

The prices on the manufacture website are going to be MSRP. You can purchase through a dealer at a lower price.

The Camillus Cuda Maxx has been long discontinued.

Don't use a knife as a screwdriver.

A screwdriver is a different tool than a knife! If that's the case and this is a must you need either a multi-tool like a leatherman, a swiss army knife (SAK) or something very cool and old timey would be something called an electrician's knife.

I sometimes double as my Company's IT guy and have been contemplating the latter!

If you aren't willing to go this route I would suggest separating the two and maybe just getting a blade and a compact screwdriver kit.

You might want to pick up a razor knife if you work in carpeting and a SWiss army knife for everything else
