Hey all, just joined here today as i have been searching for a good forum to join.. I am a licenced collector with the A.K.C (Aussie land) , and i mainly steer towards the ""left of center type of blades""... No particular area i specialize in, just what ever appeals to me i guess..

Anyway enjoy all..If you want to see more, let me know..

Welcome, my friend. Yes, you take your collection seriously. I love the display case. Very distinct collecting style, too.... ;) 'Left of Center...'

Hey, this photo grabbed my eye:

Most photographers would die to display a hamon so vivid--unless this blade is black and that's an added hamon graphic. Hmmmmmmm.

Say it aint so. :p Be truthful.

Again, welcome.

No trick photo shop there, ( i couldn't use photoshop if my life depended on it) All these pics were taken with my old camera, Fugifilm s5500 .. Far from the best on the market, but man oh man , if you get the settings right "presto"......

Few more for you then if you like that one.....lol I have a few off the shelf items as well, but not sure yet if i should post those ones....

This little baby is actually a Paul Chen "Practical plus xl katana" Beautiful workmanship on it, and razor sharp....And as you can see now, the blade most certainly is not black....Although i would like to see a black blade now you mention it...

This one is a cheaper "Highlander" But still nice.. I want to black out the gold , as i think it cheapens it..

Hi Mate,

OK. You win the prize. For that hamon..... ;)

I'm pleased you enjoy the collection. I see some even better quality in your future, as you wander and enjoy what is shown around this site.

Some of your knives are giving me a chuckle, but they sure are interesting. ;)

Thanks for the show!

The more unusual the better for me... I have had a few main stream types, but they went to make way for others i found around the place... I am actually going to sell the swords in the not to distant future, as they are kind of the only ones not sticking to my theme now...

Within that particular genre, you have an impressive collection. If you are interested in custom knives, check out Steve Licata.

interesting collection, albeit different from mine. definitely fun!

wicked & weird, i wasn't able to recognise even one knife. Q ? what means licenced collector ?

Thanks for the comments guys.... I do have a lot of fun with my items, and it is always a question of " what have you got that is new" whenever friends and family come over...

With the AKC, (Australasian Knife Collectors Club. http://www.knivesaustralia.com.au/akc-homepage.html ) so it does allow me certain relaxations on items that i would not normally be able to own. Have had a police inspection on the cabinet ( although glass, ) it has a lock so that is all they needed.. The local boys in blue know what i have, and hold a register there for me as well...The push dagger is a perfect example, that one locks into the fighting position, and i also had a few auto's and balisongs in the cabinet at the time of the check...( still have these too) The only one they were a little concerned about was Critical mass, they were more curious though.. The membership also allows people in Victory to obtain blades, an otherwise damn near impossible task. Allowed to transport items as well, which comes in handy if you have a boot full of blades...

nteresting Collection mate:thumbup:

You don't really.. What you do need though is a reason to have a cabinet full.. Being a licenced collector gives me that reason...
Hope you don't mind me adding. Laws varying according to state.
In some cases it's essential, in regards to prhobited weapons & articles. Knives such as push daggers, balisongs are illegal in most states. The NSW legislation actually specifies a knife at right angle in regards to push daggers. If you are a licesenced collector you can apply for an exemption to import prohibted weapons to add to your collection. Although it's not guarnteed you will get the exemption.
Cheers
Mitch

No i don't mind at all.. Lets the other guys know how easy they have it..
Yes all very true.. With the AKC membership people in Victoria can buy and keep knives and swords, without the membership it is just a dream..I also have a full exemption from certain other types, push dagger being one, Balisongs being the another , as i am over the ten year training frame for martial arts (going on 18 years now). This can get you an exemption from import laws, as they are official training items... Loop hole, but i like that one..
