Newbie - Can I use Sharpmaker at 30* for a 32* Chef knife?

I've carried pocket knives for almost 30 years, but I've never really been 'into' knives, until very recently. In the past, I've simply used a 'sharpening steel' to touch up cheap kitchen knives, with mediocre results. To be honest, I've never really bothered much with sharpening my carry knives, as they always just ended up damaged or lost (I'd like to change that). If anything, I'd use those gimmick pocket sharpeners..again, with mediocre results. Most of my carry knives I've never bothered getting to a razor sharp edge, as they seemed to be 'good enough'. Again, I'd like to change that. As such, I recently picked up a Spyderco Sharpmaker to get into sharpening my current knives that have been wholly neglected. So far, I'm having very good luck with my pocket knives. Not hair whittling sharp, but easily phone book paper and arm shaving (sort of) sharp.

With that said, I'm looking at purchasing some Ken Onion Shun kitchen knives. I've noticed the specs on the Chef's knife suggest it is a 32* comprehensive angle and was wondering if I could use the 30* slots on the sharpmaker for these? Is there anything fundamentally wrong with this idea, or should I look into a more precise method?

Thanks in advance,
UltraNewb.
