well, i want a large sebenza, or a strider AR or GB folder. just wanted some insight on them both. really looking for longevity, edge retention, and a real solid one piece feel when its open.

Well I think you're in the wrong forum to get an honest answer. I've never owned a Strider, but I have handled them. They are quite bulky I think. If you intend a lot of abuse, get the Strider. If you want an elegant and highly functional knife to last a lifetime, get the Sebenza. After watching the CRK DVD I don't think I could justify buying anything but a Chris Reeve knife.

A Strider is a flat grind, a Sebenza redefines a hollow grind. Unless you HACK like a madman, a Strider is usually overkill.

Buy them both. That's what I do when I can't decide...

Do that. And then sell the one you like less.
Seriously. You'd have no trouble selling either.

That's the best I can do at an objective answer without starting trouble.:D

.

They are two totally different knives.

Both have the qualities you mention, but if refinement is important to you, you may be disapointed with a strider.

Welcome to BladeForums, Snakedoctor! :)

Yup! Buy them both and if one or both of them don't appeal to you, then sell them off. Report back to us and tell us what you decide!

I have and like both but prefer the Sebenza a tad more.

Perfect fit is always a winner with me.

I have had several Striders, but they usually end up getting sold or traded. I have kept my Sebbies. I just prefer Sebbies. But, get yourself both, and see what you like best!
