Right you are. It is not a lefty. I'm having a dual thumb lug installed as a compromise. In this case the beauty beats out functionality. I didn't think I was much of a classic fan, or woodie fan, on a classic, until I saw this particular knife. But as I newbie I'm beggining to appreciate the entire Reeve line. Which of course dooms me to a life of wanting more of them.

This does bring up a question though. I'm wondering if having high priced lefty Reeve knives made, for my collection, would severely limit the collectibility of the knives in the general marketplace? Right handers are lucky. They can pop up on the internet and find beautiful knives, "made just for them" Lefty folk have to adapt or custom order. So far the only lefty Reeve knives I've seen on the internet are the plain janes. And they are far and few between.

I don't know how other left handers feel. I suppose it is no big deal to open with the right and use a Reeve in the left.

I don't know Bill Bryson. Is there a lefty connection here?

Jazz1

I have bought my lefty sebenza's to keep not sell and I think you may be correct in thinking that they would not be as easy to shed if you needed too. I needed to special order them as well.

One thing you need to think about with a righty sebenza in the left pocket is vica versa is that the blade will not be pressed against the pocket seam so could come open a lot easier.

Bill Bryson is a travel writer/author who came from Des Moines (one of his lines is "I come from Des Moines - well someone has to")

He lived in the UK for loads of years and has now moved back to the States. You aught to read his books they are seriously funny.

i assumed that evetyone in Des Moines would have heard of him

I posted a picture of this beauty on my WWW site before the knife was actually in my hands. It arrived today after a double thumb lug was added by those great folks at Chris Reeve Knives (thank you Bridget). Little did I know that on January 14, 2003 they were going to make one just for me.

Oh, and thank you Neil at TrueNorth where I purchased the knife, and for letting me use his picture of the knife on my WWW site.

All I can say is wow! I've never actually had a large Sebenza (Classic or New Style) in my hand. I can see now why the large size Sebenza might cause a stir with the "wear a suit every day crowd". I don't think I'll be whipping this knife out at the school of higher education where I work.

This is my third Chris Reeve knife. I hope I can feel this way about my 4.....50th ;)

Wow! I LOVE that Snakeskin Mnandi!!!! That is VERY NICE!! Thanks for the pics. Paul
