I have searched the archive extensively and only found conflicting answers: I know the "Double Cut" is a bead blasted finish. What is the "Satin"? I've seen reference to it being a coating, but it looks like polished INFI to me.

Need the answer so I can choose which one to get.

Yup, exactly,
Naked and shiny. That's your answer.
Any more? We can HELP!!!!
and welcome aboard.

A satin finish is your basic fine sanded/fine ground finish (uncoated), double cut, is a satin finish that has then been glass bead blasted, which is a more dull finish, but more durable and easier to maintain in my opinion (since I have a bead blaster). Some say that the double cut finish also closes up the pours in the metal making it more resistant to possible rust or corrosion.

Man, I don't think you can beat a black linen mircata handle and double cut finish on a Busse knife!

:D :D :D

Man, I am SO not into bead blasting...........
To each his own, but we're all friends.

Grazie!

Now I just have to choose which model for my first Busse. I'm torn between the Meaner Street and the Special Presentation NARK at the Company Store.

Decisions, decisions. (and no, both is not a viable option)

Rick

Get either one.

Once you've used it the INFIction will set in, and you'll buy the other one as well.

Do you like serrations? If so I'd get the NARK, it's almost like you're getting two knives for one.

Skunk is a quiet reserved person, thought I'd pass along his comment a little louder just to make sure you heard it.
