Don't know anything about engineering or physics.. Could someone please explain what makes the frame lock which is part of the frame move into position to lock the blade? Ie. Why does the frame lock not maintain it's position in line with the rest of the frame?

The lack bar is bent to shape allowing it to spring into the locked position when it comes off the blade tang to contact the lock face.

What exactly is ironic about this?

I believe because his name is "Haze" making something that was hazy to him, clear :)

Also, to OP, if you really want to understand the lock bar, take your knife apart and you will see the spring of it.

That makes sense..Thank you!

If the OP would like to see the process, I think it's in one of the Exquisite blade series..

Stupid observation, but if I recall correctly, hasn't a couple of other makers credited Reeve with the frame lock? Or at least a very good rendition of it?

Thank you for sharing.. Watched 5 minutes before realized part 1 is 1.5 hours.. this is awesome and am looking forward to watching it very soon.

Need a bit more confidence to do that.. will pick up a budget framelock first. Read somewhere that from time to time customers will send in their Sebenza in pieces so that Chris Reeve can put the pieces back together for them. LOL

No problem :)

I need to watch it myself to be honest..I have not seen the vid, but I am local, so some of the processes are familiar to me anyway..I do not work there by the way..Just in case anyone is wondering.

Taking apart and more importantly putting back together a Sebenza is as easy as it gets.

Believe you but apparently, not everyone finds it as easy as you do..
