Hope you experienced makers don't mind my intruding here. I am interested in attempting to make my first knife. I want to start with a good raw blade and have talked to Scott Taylor about getting one of his blades. I want to start with a simple blade design and Micarta slab handle. I was wondering if anyone on this list might live within a reasonable driving distance from Parker, CO (near Denver) and would be willing to spend some time with a newbie providing some demonstration of technique and methods to help with the front end of the learning curve. Any help you guys can provide would be greatly appreciated. PS. are there any places where I can get good quality raw blades now that Bob Engnath has passed on? Thanks.

You know, I am glad that we are in such a tight knit industry. Longrange looks for some help and demonstrations & John is nice enough to invite him over. A sign of good people to be working with.
