Hello to all, I am new on here and have a question about a knife. It is a damascus pocket knife that has a crack in the blade right where the blade is pinned. It's fine and functions but am just annoyed. What can I do to fill the crack to relieve the eye soar ?

Thanks!

First off, welcome to BFs. Glad to have on here. Second, could you be more specific about the crack? Like the in which of the knife.

Wish I could show pics, not allowed I guess???

Right where the blade pivots or pinned, one of the layers of metal have separated! Basically the area which is rounded and makes contact with the locking mechanism while opening and closing blade....

Does that describe the issue well enough?

Thank you,

James

JB Weld? Hell I don't know.... It probably cracked because the Damascus was made wrong.

Sounds like a weld flaw, where the contrasting metals haven't welded together properly creating a "pocket" of sorts. You could try to grind/polish it out but from the sounds of it that's probably not viable. You may just have to live with it I'm afraid. You could put some coloured JB weld in the crack and sand it flush but that's just a cosmetic fix

Ya, I thought of the same thing! Maybe just jb weld the crack. Thanks for then input guys! I may just do that unless any other ideas pop up. I will wait a bit, no rush at this point. It is after all only cosmetic.
