I am about to take the plunge and order my first sebenza. I would like to take it to Iraq on my upcoming deployment, but I would die if it was lost or taken by someone. Anyway, I like the large classic and I know that it would last me forever and a day. Is there an advantage to having the classic over the regular? Probably not, but just want to get all the facts before I make the purchase. I would use it for basically everything one could imagine, with the exception of cutting off car doors and things of that nature. I also plan to pass it on to my son when he is of age to be responsible enough to own such a fine piece of craftsmanship. Thanks for you time.

well first off..good luck in iraq, and keep your wits about you at all times. as far as reg vs classic , it all comes down to a matter of which style you like better. As far as quality goes both are ultra top notch. p.s did you see the american flag version thats computer etched on the handle..its pretty cool you should check it out. Take care and good luck!

After using both styles in the field myself, I think you will find the large Regular is the way to go. The wider blade profile lends itself to more tasks, not to mention the stronger blade(more steel)! The handle ergonomics of the regular also gives you more options for use, i.e., better grip on the knife in blade up or reverse.

For your needs the regular may be a slightly better choice. But you'll be pleased with either version of the Sebbie. The main difference blade wise is that the regular has a deeper belly to it whereas the classic design has a more pronounced point which could, I guess, aid in more detailed work. I also prefer the ergonomics of the regular design's handle. Above all else, God Bless you and thank you for your service to our Nation.
