just found this forum and wanted to say hi. my name is ken and i live in the adirondacks of NY where i hunt, fish, trap, and hike. i love a weel made, sharp, knife and hawk, also throw them often. good friend of mine is a knife builder and i have many pieces from him. i put all i own to the test in the woods but also take very good care of them. usally carry a longknife on my belts and allways wear a neck knife. looks like a fine site here with a great bunch of people.

all my knives are made by a good friend of mine matt at www.mlknives.com he is an excellent craftsman and i swear by his blades. here are a few of mine made by matt.

I love the adirondacks! I don't get up there nearly enough though. Greetings from just south of Syracuse, in Otisco :)

Greetings Ken, glad you found us. Let me suggest you wander over to the Wilderness & Survival Skills forum sometime. Your Adirondack experience will be welcome, I'm sure.
 
Welcome Ken, you sound like a man that can appreciate quality knives and hawks. I'm sure your input on some of the practical aspects of using these tools will add a lot to the conversations here.

I'm a collector not a hunter so it's only through my reading of experianced outdoor people like yourself that I learn something.
 
Phil,
i am also a collector but use most everything i have. i skin critters, mark trails, start fires ( flint striker ) and i am an avid thrower. i look foward to contributing when i can.
