I'm getting a BK-2 shortly and am gonna try making some scales for that which should be easy enough since I have a strong "MacGuyver" like personality lol. However, I wanted to buy a cheap blank and make some scales for that as well. My trouble is, how do I choose the right bolts for it, as I do not eat to rivet or pin them on the blank. Also, what is the proper terminology for those bolts? I remember briefly passing another forum and know they have a distinct name.

I apologize ahead of time to anyone who flames me for these questions, it's late and I'm at work so I don't have much time to search. Thank you.

There are several types of "bolts" used.
Corby bolts are the most popular. Another is called Loveless bolts.Tere are several other types, too. Take a look in any knife supply catalog or on-line seller and you will see the ones available. USA KnifeMaker supply has a good selection. They are under "Handle material and Hardware". Here is the page:

Chainring bolts and sex bolts are 2 of the more common styles of takedown scale fasteners. I just use 1/4" threaded folder pivots as a threaded insert and use 6-32 torx head screws for the bolts.
