Hey Peter, if it works out, I'm in for it.
I'm doing a little of both and shoot I'd even let a likely target pick his poison, forged or stock removal. I'd go for the max 6 months probably because well frankly I work too much and forge too little, but it'll get done one way or the other.

Rules sound fair to me. I'd vote for no fee, sender beware, myself, maybe a healthy note of it to remind folks.

One in, anyone else up?

Come on, pony up boys and girls, it's all for good fun.

Jon

It's been decided: NO FEE

Okay, here is our current list
-Peyton Runyan (Peter Ryt)

-~Pending~ Jason (elkdoc)
-Jon (synghyn)
-Mike Ferrara (Mike Ferrara
-Brett Holmes (Holmsy2000)
-Bill Withem (Bill Withem)
-~Undisclosed~ (BigD)

Edit- taking a vote on time: 3,4,5, or 6 months?

Toxey: a KITH is a knife in the hat. It is where a bunch of people make knives that follow a certain criteria, and then send them when names are drawn. Names are drawn like this: Person A (PA) is drawn, and then PB is drawn, so PA sends the knife PB, and then the next name drawn is PC, so PB sends it to PC, and PC sends it to PA.

If you want to join in Toxey- you're in.

Mungo Park- as long as you don't mind paying extra shipping, I don't see why not.

Okay, here is our current list

I know if I want to turn out anything decent, it takes me a while, work etc always seems to intrude on my shop time.

Also, have we established any kind of parameters at all? Or are you going to? I mean as in rough size, or any such.

Jon

Well- you've got till June 1 at this point. The KITH officially begins Jan. 31, but you can start on the knife now if you need the time. As far as parameters go- make it the best you can do- that's all.

sounds interesting, I can't commit at the moment, but after the holidays the work load will lighten a wee bit and i might be able to then. could somebody possibly make this a sticky...?
Alex

Right there with you Darrin, I was telling my wife exactly the same thing this afternoon. Get me off my hump to do something and really try to finish it off nice as possible. I keep seeing some stupid flaw and just finishing it enough to use it around the shop or yard. Hopefully I can use it as an excuse to get off my hump and get one finished up nice.

Jon

We're up to 16 now!
For anyone who has allot of experience with this forum, would it be bad if I routed this thread and future posts in it to Knife Network? I know that on a couple of forums this would offend the Mods.

Peter, got your email, i guess i'll go ahead and throw my hat in the ring. what's the deal with criteria for this knife? as in general design, size, etc...
i figger it might be somewhat better if everybody was makin the same general style of knife...? that might be in the guidlines and i might've missed it, but i figgered i'd go ahead and throw it out there.
Alex

This is mostly a chance to get newbies out there, to learn something, and to have some fun while doing it. This makes the criteria very broad. Make it a user- while art knives are cool, they generaly won't feild dress a deer, save your life, or withstand the test of life. Folders are accepted, but I'm looking more toward a fixed blade.

Glad to have you in.

Im game for anything....we should have a wide range of knives with some people working with files and sandpaper and some of us on KMGs...the whole point of these is to present a best effort for that time period. No one who has ever thought of making a knife should shy away...:)

well i thought i should probably move this thread back up towards the top. anyway we could make this a sticky if i ask nicely...? ;) :D

Alex

Also, Peter has had events that have forced him to step out of the KITH. I will be handing the drawing etc at the end in his absence.
