Newbie here. I need a knife for the farm and campsite, and I'm thinking a pommel for hammering would be more useful to me than a skull crusher. So ... I've been thinking about having Garth mod a NMSFNO with a bird's beak pommel. Is that just a junior version of the upcoming NMFSH? Has anyone ever seen this done? What say all of you wise Infi sages?

Never seen a NMSFNO with a bird's beak. It would probably be a one of a kind that's for sure.

As for the hammering need, to be honest, when I've used my NMSFNO as a hammer, I've always used the spine, or if into something soft I just used the side of the knife. It's INFI, it can take it :D The Nucler Meltdown treatment it kind of odd to use as a hammer with something small, but if you're going at something large with it, you're fine.

As for being a junioer version, it wouldn't be, the NMFSH has a regular skull crusher pommel.

Thanks for the insight! The only NMSFNO I have ever held was yours at the most recent Indy 500.

I seem to recall that some of the older steel hearts had the bird's beak pommel. I like that pommel, along with everything else about the NMSFNO.

My first Busse should be here within two weeks - a standard NMSFNO with blue black G10 from the custom shop. I can't wait!

Maybe some day I will get that modded NMSFNO!

The pommel on the NMSFNO act as counterbalance, which works beautifully. keep this in mind in any future Mod.
