Hey all! Been researching for a while and have 3 options to start off!! Looking for opinions based on the experience here!

Purchase options…
1. Civivi Elementum s35vn natural + Kershaw launch 4
2. Benchmade 535 bugout
3. Splurge option… Spyderco PM2

Honestly leaning towards 1 but really thinking about starting with the Syperdco and building around it. The Civivi packs such a solid punch though, and I LOVE the Kershaw.

I’d pick 2. The PM2 is too big IMO and the Civivi has a hot spot on the hand from the clip.

Bugout w/ aftermarket scales would be my choice, or any scale option other than the Grivory the base models come with.

IMHO, you should go with your gut and get Option #1. You ask for our opinions, but those opinions are driven by our own bias, when the only thing that really matters is what YOU think. All of the three options you ask about are 100% solid and would serve you well for years and years.

Now... as far as my bias. I am a 3 inch blade kind of guy, so I tried the PM2 and (for me) it was too big and heavy. I am a Spyderco fan (another bias) and I personally carry a Sage 5 FRN most of the time (I like the action) ... with a Dragonfly 2 K390 as a "don't freak out the lunchroom" backup ..... but I am seriously looking at a CRKT Pilar III D2.

As then foundational first purchase for the start of a collection, I'd go with the Spyderco PM2. If it's too big for you, get the PM3. With Spyderco, you get the design, the materials, the quality, and a company with a great story. Story matters (if you are a collector).

Depends on which is most comfortable for you. Im spoiled on the pm2. Perfect size for me, its the smallest ill carry normally unless in dress clothes. And i like going all american. I think the bugout is pretty dang light if thats a consideration.

Would def consider para 3. Overwhelmed with blade options. Doing the research now. Getting more expensive with every post I read / video I watch !

+1 for sticking with your gut. I've owned 3/4 of those knives (can't own autos here), and any of them could serve well as your sole EDC knife without any problems.

If you regularly use your knife in gloves, the roomier handle on the PM2 might be a benefit. If not, go with your first option. :)

Got me

got the para 3 s45 ! Now I wait! Fml, but might need the overpriced bugout s90 CF next! On bright side, this is much cheaper than watch collecting!
Buy whatever you dream of !
Good Luck
