Hi All. I'm new. Looking for some suggestions for an EDC knife.

Currently I have two. An old (7+ yr old) Spyderco Delica semi serrated. As well as a crkt hissatsu 2 folder. Also semi serrated.

I love the look and feel as well as the deep concealment of the crkt. I'm just not in love with the steel. I have some chips in it. And I'm not one to beat my knives up.

I'm looking for a folder. With good positive locking. With very nice steel. A full fine edge. No longer interested in serrated varieties. I would like a deeper concealment.

I'd love vg10, s30v, cpms30v, ats34, or cpms90v steel. I'm not looking for cheep Chinese stuff.

Budget could go to ~$135. Or less.

Not looking for a Rambo knife. Just a well balanced. Good looking. Quality knife that would be relatively easy to maintain. Something I'd be proud to carry.

Usage consists of opening boxes now and then. Random every day stuff. I'm a desk worker. So it's not being used for work. It's the I just want to be prepared and always have a knife In case I need it.

I was looking at the mcusta katana. But they are hard to find. The Spyderco military model looks great too. Just maybe a little on the big side.

Your recommendations and replies are appreciated.

Cheers,

Matt

Update: looking very at Paramilitary 2 and the Spyderco Gayle Bradley.... Whats the big difference in metals? I know the M4 is not stainless so is required a bit more care and attention....

Spyderco Gayle Bradley is a nice knife, about what you want to spend. CPM M4 steel, strong liner lock.

Maybe a Spyderco Chaparral, deep carry s30v in your price range if you get the carbon fiber version.

Right off the top of my head, the Gayle Bradley K.O.D. mentioned would make a great knife!

I'm fond of the Chaparral. As well as the Spyderco Centofante series, and the Chokwe. Also the Doug Ritter version of the Benchmade Mini Griptilian. All of those are GREAT at cutting and slicing. All are in your range. I personally find the Paramilitary 2 to be a perfect balance for tough jobs and cutting ability. The fine tip and flat grind are extremely handy.

For that price there is absolutely NOTHING better than a Benchmade Contego. It's M4 steel @ 62-64rc and built like a brick.

There's a crazy deal on them at Knifeworks. $136 shipped.

So I made my choice.... it was tough one. I looked at a zillion reviews and videos. It was a tossup between the Sypderco Paramilitary 2 Camo. Or the Spyderco Gayle Bradley Folder

The Spyderco Gayle Bradley Folder won out. I think its handsome and very unique. I figure this one may be hard to get one day, so I opted for this. I might have to buy the Paramilitary 2 though down the road.

Here is the best part though.... I had $135 in Amazon credit. So the knife cost me $35 of my own cash. Best deal ever. I paid extra to have it delivered by Saturday. Hey big spender ;)

Anyway, I will let y'all know how it goes. I know the M4 steel needs some loving so I will keep her oiled or coated with some Flitz or similar. Can't wait to get it!

Thanks for all the help.

Got the GB last night. Wow is it sharp. A little big. But it's a beauty. Love the scales. Seems really well built. Hope it provides me years of quality service.

After you have used the new knife for awhile do a review on it and let us know what you think of it
