I'm looking at purchasing a mini-disc (MD) player or possibly a MP3 player. I'm a complete newbie to these things, so bear with me...

1) Can the music for the MD player be downloaded from the same sites that offer MP3 music? Is it all the same format?

2) Can either of these players be used as a voice recorder?

3) I had looked at one Sony that came with a car kit... is something like this available for most any MD/MP3 player. (I still have a cassette deck in my work car)

Any recommendations??

Thanks in advance!

This is getting moved to Gadgets & Gear.

The mini disc is just a sort of small cd player. You can record on it though. So it is possible downloading songs from the internet. But you'll have to record it on the mini disc. Much like recording on cassettes but digitally.

Better get an MP3 player. It is more versatile and can store loads more songs than a mini disc. Some Mp3 players can record voices. If i'm not mistaken some mp3 players can record voices. Just check the individual specs.

The car kit works by putting in a cassette sort of thing wired to the player's headphone input. So with an mp3 player you can still play it in the car.
