I joined just so I could get a shot to buy an older busse , however the acronyms "SHE , SHSH "are killing me, I did figure out SH was steel heart but there are tons of them , help. I am also a Swamp Rat guy and am trying to find out the real diff between infi and sr101 is there really much yes or no ,also I know some srkw guys "use" their rats and only "collect " Busse , but that will not be me I will probably beat the heck out of whatever I get ,can't afford a museum peice , just like my rifles they are shooters not wall hangers thanks for all the help.

I can't think right now, but here's a link for Busse Acronyms right here

SHSH- Straight Handle Steel Heart
SH-E: Steel Heart E(rgonomic)

other more knowledgeable hogs will be along soon

Infi is Best, then SR101, then Modified Infi (Basic Series)

Welcome az rat! I'm a former Arizonan myself but stuck in CA for now. I recommend you check www.badmojo.tv for more eye candy and also a general overview of Busse Knives. You've picked an awesome place to hang out with a great group of guys who basically make fun at themselves all the time.

Sr101 better than M-INFI ??

Can a swamp Rat blade cut over 2400 pieces of hemp rope ?

I really am comparing the Ratweiler to a similar design Busse , and yes I know infi is better , but how and why is it more durable, stronger ,edge retension ect... and if that starts to get to techie I will take the old scale of 1 to 10 comparison with sr101, D2, ect. Oh yes in reguards to price the"whats your life worth" arguement keeps popping into my head .I will use this in the az desert, I used a ka-bar till I was 30years old it did a fine job for most of the work and the usgi machette picked up the slack .I also used to shoot a Ruger and now ,a Kimber, so where does infi fit in using that type of thinking ..thanks again guys

I can only say that Infi holds an edge longer, I suspect that it's also a bit tougher, more wear and stain resistant. All the combination is what makes Infi an all-around excellent steel.

I'm quite the busse newbie as well. When I first got into knives 3 years ago, I made a wish list, and busse was on it (particularly the bm-e). I wasn't in a position to look at busses then, but I'm in a better position now. Busse toughness is legendary, almost mythical (in a good sense). So of course I had to get in on some of that.

I've always wanted a bm-e, but the weight of the piece (from what I've read on bf threads) really kept me away. I want my knives to be ready, whether beaters or collectors, as a tool for self-defense at any time I desire. So they have to be light and lively in my hands no matter what.

Enter the Fusion Battle Mistress.

From everything I've read, it's my "dream" battle mistress: wider blade, lighter in the hands, and 10" blade. Can't get better than that! Like many here, I'm VERY excited about this piece.

So, as a newbie, I have several questions:

1) Considering the production protocol at Busse, will the FBM be readily available during the month of it's run? Or do I have to place an order now to secure my FBM? If I have to place an order now, do I put the full amount or a deposit?

2) Satin Jack: is there going to be a "fusion" run of this as well this year? Also, anything you can tell me about this knife would be greatly appreciated (specs, tests, stories, what you love about it, etc.).

3) Leaner Meaner Street: this piece caught my eye on the recent Blade (or was it tactical knives) issue. WOW, was all I could say. Is there going to be a special run of this knife this year as well? Testimonials would be greatly appreciated on this as well.

My prime concern is the ordering, to make sure I have them when they become available. Thanks guys!
