:As a new member of the Buck Collectors Club <ALANTA Blade show> I am really looking foward to years of fun and fellowship being part of the Buck family! Many of yall on this forum have many years learening about Buck knives and all the special limited editions, variations and history of there production...Thats precious, valuble info and part of the fun! But sometimes I feel just a little embarased by my lack knolage about some really basic aspects of collecting Buck knives..... and I want to do something about it! So I am asking all of the old hands on this forum If you would be so kind as to share where a newbie such as myself could find some of this GOLD! What books should I buy for references on values ,and history? what are the best web sites to look at old discountued models and varations, ? WHERE IS THE GOLD ! Joe, help a new baby out ! I just dont know where to look or what to buy for sure.....And I am hoping that mabe even some of the old hands might learn of a new resource that would enhance there BUCK experence! I just have the current BCCI newsletter for instance, Is there a way to veiw back issues???? Just one burning question......THANKS ALL !!!!!!!!!!!

...Bucksway just hang around long enough to pick up lots of the information as it's tossed out here. Ask lots of questions even if you "think" they are dumb...Lord knows I've asked more of that type than any other...LOL...the only true "dumb" question is one that isn't asked...There are a bunch of books out that can help you out but you also should be aware that even the best references have mistakes and omissions that can only be corrected by the folks in the know...and lucky for us, they all pop in here from time to time. All the guys with the great collections in here are eager to help ya out...Joe Houser, Larry Oden, Jack and John Foresman, Heng em, Chickentrax, 300Bucks, Packrat, good ol crazy 334dave, The Last Confederate, Mike Kerins, Jimmer 5, CJ Buck and many, many more that that I haven't mentioned all have a wealth of Buck knives information and their history and they're all in this forum. Lots of the old Collector's Club Newsletters are on the Club website and they are available for you to download as PDF files...you'll need to download Adobe Reader if you don't have it but it's a free download. It's easy to find on the web...just type Adobe download and you should be good to go. You'll like it here and you won't be able to help but learn new things every time you look in. The guys in here are the best Buck references you'll ever find. Enjoy yourself...

Hi bucksway,

First off welcome BCCI fellow member. Go the BCCI web site and you can see all of the past news letters and model history. There is a ton of info on that site...and you can look at all of the old Buck dealers catalogs and price list...Enjoy. Books well here are a few for you to get: "Blade's Guide to Knives & Thir Values" and "The Story of Buck Knives...a family business". Then the next best place for information is the guys here on this site....current users and searching the old postings. Just remember there is no such thing as a silly question...thats how we all learn my Buck brother!!!!

Forget getting Adobe PDF Reader; it's bloatware and slow as h*ll...Get Foxit PDF Reader instead; small footprint, and about a zillion times faster... ;)

And don't be afraid to use the "Search" button to look for interesting topics...

*** If you are getting a blank screen (no hits) when using the Search function, follow these instructions -

Trax, Darryl, John, and Decaf are all older than dirt in their Buck knowledge.
I have learned something from each of them many times over.
There are others, as mentioned in Doc D's. post, but I mention them as they replied to your inquiry.

Stick around here Bucksway and soon we will both be able to take the pebble from their respective hands Grasshoppah.

Goose.

Whats a "klink??????

That's where they toss your butt when you run up your credit card buying Buck knives and can't make the monthly payments:eek::D:p. "Klink" is in reference to the fellow who had that knife made....it's part of a complete set of knives that were all made with handles like the 124 that crazy Dave just got. Nice snag Dave:thumbup:
