This may be common knowledge here but I feel I should say something. I sent a message via the Kershaw website admitting that I'd done a "dummy" and accidently cut into an electrical cord with my new (Christmas gift) Blur. I asked if the blade could be replaced expecting a price list or "discard and replace" reply.

To Kershaw's credit, Morgan Tierney, warranty supervisor, replied with a short personal note and return instructions: "We will gladly take care of your knife...."

I have sent my knife back for repair per Morgan's kind offer and bought another Kershaw because you folks encouraged that model (Leek TSW). Consider me "on board" :)

Yes, it is common knowledge here. ;)

Welcome aboard. You're in for the ride of your life.

Welcome aboard

I doubt that you will ever be a former Kershaw fan.

It being that the Blur is mostly metallic, I would imagine you where shocked to find you cut into a cord. :o

Welcome to the crew. Glad your OK.

Just out of curiosity, how bad the arch mess up the blade and what kind of steel was it?

God watches out for drunks, young, and old guys ;)

Welcome! Sorry to hear of your bad experience, and glad to hear of your good experience, which is SOP for Kershaw!

Now, about your post quoted above, which one are you?

:D

I realize now pics would have been useful but I was so embarrassed at the "oops", and had so little expectation, that I packed the knife and shipped it immediately. In terms of damage, there was a "bite" about the radius of a dime and about 3/16 " deep in the blade. I ground it out (moto tool) in an attempt to salvage the blade. The material of the blade (temper, composition, etc) was delightfully compliant to my abuses and it took a fine edge in the reconstituted "notch".

I will report the final outcome but have to admit that I cannot criticize Kershaw if they just return the knife ;)

This reminds me of the time I was watching TV and heard a loud "POP".
I walk into my son's room, he was on his knees holding a piece of wire
in front of a wall outlet and looked up with this " " expression on
his face. I knew immediately what he had done.

After I finished

I said " I bet you won't do that again ". :D
