Hello All!! I need some help making up my mind on a automatic knife.
I cant decide between the microtech soccom elite auto or the Benchmade styker auto. Both use 154 CM SS, 6061-T6 handles and both seem to be great knives. Can you experts help me decide on which one two get(pros amd cons of each). Also, should i get plain edge or combo edge for general usage.
Any help will be greatly appreciated as i plan to buy asap!

P.S. if you can reccommend a better auto knife let me know--as long as it is in the same price range as the knives above.

Thank you--medic1

If autos are legal in your area, and you are SURE that you want one, I would say get the SOCOM, this is just a personal opinion. Very good quality knife, and I have yet to hear of a problem with the lock. Welcome to the forums. This is only if you are positive you want an auto. If you are not sure, then post your thoughts and I will help you, although that is not saying much. :)

I have had a Socom Elite Auto it is a good knife big strong and fast you know it is in your hand (i like big knives ) i have a stryker manual if the auto is around the same size it is a good carry knife not as big as the Elite but still plenty of blade i like the socom for the detail and over all looks and performance i wish i never sold mine i miss it :(

Well i am not 100% sure i want a auto. I just think they will come in handy in my occupation-Tactical Paramedic-. Have you heard of problems with the locking mech of the Benchmade?

Pros & Cons of a auto knife??

Thanks

If you're price resticted. . .Go with the Micrtoech SOCOM. But, if I were you I'd throw in several more frog backs and get a Microtech LCC DA. ;)

But. . .whatever you do ~ don't do a Benchmade nor Sere auto !

I own a Microtech LCC D/A, and I can't recommend it enough. It's an incredible knife, though a little heavy. Definitely get a Microtech, they make the best production autos out there.

Good luck!
