I recently got a Strider SnG CC and have a question about opening it.

I find it easier to open the blade using the oval hole, than by using the thumb stud. Actually I find it really hard to open it using the thumb stud. Is this normal?

Thanks!

My SnG is also hard to open using just the studs. Don't know why, except that the studs may be mounted a bit farther back than on other knives in order to clear the oval hole.

I EDC my SnG quite a bit and I find myself just laying the pad of my thumb over the hole and letting the tip of my thumb rest against the stud. I guess I usually use both the hole and the stud when I open mine.

How do you like your CC? That's my next Strider, I think. Is it comfortable in your pocket with the contoured G10 & Ti scales?

I have no problems using the oval hole, and probably prefer using the hole over the studs, was more curious than anything.

I really like the CC, I find it really comfortable, and in my jeans pocket I don't feel it there at all. I have other folders (smaller ones) that feel bulkier in the pocket than this one.

(I just got and it is my first Strider)

Thanks

thats not realy a thumb stud its the stop pin for the blade i found that out the hard way, my thumb still has a mark in it from oppening it with it lol.

Those are not thumb studs. That's the blade stop. Use the blade hole to open the knife. Striders take awhile to break-in.

Same thought crossed my mind, blade stop first and thumb stud second...

The holes it is, will do, thanks!

Thanks J_Roc. The CC will definitely be my next SnG.

Thanks to tgiannes and Lycosa also. I've had my SnG apart a couple of times for a massage and eyeball session and it never occured to me that the studs were actually the blade's stop pin. But looking at it now, that's exactly what it is... and I bet that's why it's placed where it is :p.
