Just got an Emerson Mini-CQC7, Black-Ti combo blade and silver skull clip.

Some questions please:

How tight do I turn the pivot bushing screw?
I tightened it down tight but then can't really get the blade out using the thumb stud. I then backed it off a bit and the blade comes out fine but will I have problems with the pivot screw being too loose, now?
When I hold the frame (scales) in one hand and the blade in the other, I get a small amount of "flex" between the blade and the handle/frame...is this blade slop or just normal?

Any help you can provide me would be greatly appreciated.
Bill:rolleyes:   :( :)

Welcome to the forums silversport!

Here's a tip: STOP WORRYING! :) I have a CQC-7 as well. Tighten the pivot so that it is just a hair tighter than you'd like. Put a drop of pil i th epivot oif needed (only a drop, not lots at all). Sit infront of the TV and open and close the knife for 15 minutes or so. Then pocket the knife an duse it normally for a day. Adjust the pivot accordingly after that. Too loose and it will open in your pocket! Too tight is better, but not ideal. So, start with ti a bit tight and adjust accordingly. As far as the flex goes, I wouldn't worry much either. I have found tmy CQC-7 to be fine. I have a Benchmade AFCK that flexes quite a bit (more than any other knife I have) and it hasn't been any trouble.

Cool...I just tried a buddies full sized Commander and it has a little "play" as does my Avalanche...Thanks, again!

IMHO a little bit of flex is a good thing. If the knife should happen to take some pressure from the side, then a little bit of flex will let it bend instead of break. Notice I said a little bit of flex, not too much just a skosh over a smidgen and not a dash more.

If teh pivot screw really starts to bother you, then try loctite. I used it on a couple of my knives, works fine. Get the blue "removable" stuff, comes in red bottle.
