I recently purchased a Hapstone M2. Knives come out sharper than they did by my hand, but I am a little bewildered on how to sharpen from the bend, up towards the point of the knife. The sharpening angle gets a bit steeper as I go along the bend. This is not really an issue when it comes to narrow kitchen knives. But the wider the blade, the bigger the difference. One of our knives is a scandi bushcrafter and I have no idea how to retain the sharpening angle of that one.

Is there a trick that helps when sharpening wide blades in this type of jig, or are they simply the wrong tool fo the job?

Also, is there such a thing as a strop that comes fitted in a apex pro (or clones) “stone” holder?

you can use the PTS method for stropping with the M2

yes simply wrong tool for scandi grinds or mora basic. those are not fun to sharpen on a benchstone either
