I've owned plenty of knives (hunting, regular pocket, lockbacks, etc.) but never a modern folder that you can open with one hand. I've been eyeing the SOG Trident, but have one big question. Does the blade not lock itself in an open position when you snap it open? I've had regular old pocket knives fold in a bit by accident and I can't say I like that capability much. Thx.

the knife has an arc lock , in other words to close the knife you must first disengage this lock . it cannot close accidentally.

tomcat 3 (S95) has arc lock:

tomcat 2 (S94) is lockback:

anyway, both have locks that will not disengage by accident (contrary of the classic slipjoints)
