Hi, I am brand new to knives. I am trying to put together a wilderness survival kit. I found a website with really good advice about what sorts of things to put together, and it recommended a Becker Brute as a great all-purpose survival knife. I'm finding that that particular knife is no longer available. Does anyone have a recommendation for an alternative?

The BK9 is a great knife, but a little big for a survival knife to me. In the Becker line, the Campanion is a much better sized knife.

What's your website that recommended a Brute? It is a great knife for a big knife, I have two of them.

i would tell you to strongly consider the ontario knife companies rat series i carry an rtak2 with a rat three that will cover all your basics. from batoning through logs to small camp chores. and they are very affordable, but if you have the money i would buy a busse battle mistress and also a busse ash one and you should be set ..
