Hi all!

New to the forum and wanted to just wanted to give a brief introduction :D

From sunny South Africa! Love the outdoors, and enjoy fishing and hunting. Really enjoy my knives and although I don't have a collection like most of you, I enjoy what I have :)

I started off with a Byrd Cara Cara 2, and progressed onto a Spydie Tenacious, then Endura 4, then a PM 2 (have three now hehe), and have just ordered 2 fixed blades - a Southfork and Sustain  I also have a CS Rajah3 which I carry quite often, and have Casey Lynch clips on mp PM2's and Endura4. Oh, and I must mention, have a few blades from a dear friend, Harm (http://www.armko-knives.co.za/)

I generally use my Spydie Sharpmaker to touch up my blades, but nothing sorts out a cheap kitchen knife like a Worksharp :p

Anyways, looking forward to reading up and learning, and hopefully growing my collection some more :)

Cheers and have a great day everyone!

Marshy :D

It appears as though you have excellent taste in knives. You have the advantage of access to the South African Knifemakers' Guild, which includes many of the finest makers in the world. Of course, here in the U.S., we are accustomed (primarily) to Chris Reeves Sebenzas and Zaans, among his other models.
I have a very small collection of CRK's, including a large Regular, a Zaan and two large Classics. The Zaan is in my pocket.
Welcome to the forum...a really decent bunch of folks. :)

Welcome to the forum!!!

Looks like you have a great start already. Spyderco and Cold Steel are some of the best bang for your buck companies.

Have fun using them and keep em sharp.

Welcome!

Being that you're from SA, you should take a look at André Thorburns knives sometime. He is a custom maker from Bela-Bela.

His knives are not cheap by any means, but if you ever decide to drop some heavy coin on a knife keep André in mind. Who knows, if you're nearby he may even let you tour his shop!

Cara Cara and Rajah III are also among my favorites and ones I'd recommend to anyone!

I'd love to hear your impressions on the Sustain, it's one of the 2017 Spydies that really caught my eye. Thanks!
