Newbie with question.

Hello to All, my name is Doug and Im a long time lurker of this site, new to knife making as Ive been at it now for a little over a year, studying, researching and gathering as much knowledge as possible.
I have a quick question that I hope someone can answer, I have been using 1084 steel since starting out for ease of heat treat based on sound advice, Ive bought from Aldo also based on advice about quality, the last couple time I attempted to order Aldo shows out of stock on most sizes of 1084, sent an email to him this morning to see what the future holds for 1084 there, in the meantime Im looking at 1084 from Alpha “AKS” who Ive purchased from before but never knife steel. Has anyone used 1084 from Alpha that can advise on quality VS Aldos 1084? Any drop in quality? Thanks in advance.

AKS is excellent, I don’t use 1084, but get all my steel from them as do many other forum members here. I have used their 80crv2, Aebl, M4, M2, 52100 never had an issue.

I almost exclusively use Alpha now. Love their 1084.
