Mine post immediately, but I don't start many threads.

Depends on if the software flags it.
If the software does not flag it, it shows up immediately. If the software flags it, it has to be approved by a moderator before it will actually show. I am not certain what the software scans for.
A couple of us check for moderated posts several times a day. So if a post is flagged, it can be a few hours before it shows up, or it might be a few minutes.
Your other thread is currently showing, but I see that one of the other mods, who doe not often hang out in the Bernard Levine forum, has looked at it. My guess is that it was flagged and that he approved it.
By the way, it is very difficult for the folks in that forum to give you much help if you do not post pictures of the knife in question. Show one of the entire knife, and another of the tang markings. As a registered user you can post pictures by uploading them to a web hosting site such as photobucket. Then copy the web address of the picture, paste it into your post, and wrap the address in BBS code like this:
