Hello All,
I am new to this forum, spending just about all my time at the Emerson Forum. I recently purchased a BM Production Bali with a Weehawk clip point blade as a beginner knife. I know next to nothing about them. I really just started reading the threads so I am learning a bit. One question: Who currently makes top notch custom and or production balis? I have seen the name Franken mentioned, does he have a site. I just want to see what's out there. Thanks.

Usual Suspect

Outside of Lent when I forgo it, I have drinks on Wednesday nights with a group known as "The Usual Suspects."

Benchmade should begin delivering their new Model 42 in just a few weeks. The going price seems to be about $109. I have one already and I can tell you that it's well worth it.

You can read my comments on my web site. You can place your order at onestopknifeshop.com

Franken-bali is a term that is a tongue and cheek reference to "Frankenstein". The creation of some "Mad" knifemaker, combining parts from different knives or modifying a knife from its original form. Usually done in a castle on a stormy night. I'm not sure, but I think Sniperboy was the first such "Mad" knifemaker and the one who coined the term.

Jam, it is actually kind of hazy if it was me or Clay who coined the term but I know when i told everyone about it, Clay was already doing it long time before me. I have a section on my web page dedicated to it though
