Cullman County, and Crimson/White it is! Where is the bestest knife lookin' for places down that a way? We have some pretty good places up this way, P.G. Quicks, J&P Ernests, Werhners Trading Co, and Mary Carters.
There are two places that I know of that are musts if you are down this way.
Southeastern Guns in Trussville - My daughter and I visit this store about once a week, since we live within ten miles of it. They have a big selection of a limited number of manufacturers, primarily Spyderco and Benchmade, including auto-openers. They have good prices, competitive with on-line knife dealers. They have a substantial LEO clientele, and their knives tend toward tacticals. They also have a huge firearm selection, with the best prices that I have found in the Birminghmam area.
Marks Outdoor Sports in Vestavia - This place is outdoor central, less LEO, more hunters and fishermen. They have a much wider variety of manufacturers, and chances are that if you want to see and handle a particular knife from any of the main-line and higher end manufacturers, you can find it here. They are also pricier, with a higher markup than Southeastern Guns. For example, you can buy a Benchmade 630 Skirmish here for $189. Southeastern's price is $139. No doubt it costs more to maintain the larger, more diverse high-end inventory that Mark's has, though. They have a knife department manager, and if you want to hang out and talk knives, he is accomodating. Mark's also features a very large inventory of used sporting guns in great condition, and usually has thirty to fifty of them on display. Their entire gun inventory can be seen on their web site. Their handgun prices are not usually competitive with Southeastern, and handgun inventory is smaller than Southeastern.
As far as the Crimson/White goes, I belong to the other denomination.
