Hello folks....newbie here. Been lurking for times so I decided to post my first post. I'm interested in buying CRK folder(not right now) but Im torn between Lg Sebenza and Umnumzaan. So I need your thoughts/ advices in considering the perfect choice for me. Btw, I'm from Malaysia...

It's always hard to recommend a knife for someone else, especially someone I don't know. One thing to keep in mind is that the large Sebenza and the Umnumzaan are roughly the same size, which is big. The small Sebenza might be more comfortable for you, depending on the size of your hands.

If you were thinking of a heavy duty knife, I'd say go for one of the big ones, but if it's for office and dress purposes, the small would be better. The blade on the small is still good-sized, just the handle is more compact.

Thanks for the advice and the warm welcome.

I prefer Lg Sebenza as my next knife but the Umnumzaan looks very tempting. Sm Sebenza might a little bit small in my hands plus this folder will be my back up for outdoors activities (i'm not a hardcore in outdoors i do go out once a while).
 
Find some locally and fondle them. I went with the zaan and couldn't be happier. The scalloped spine really makes the knife comfortable when you choke up on the knife. The blade feels more substantial than the seb. The opening is a little different than on the seb so if possible go and play with one somewhere. Either way you made the right choice.
 
There's a minority of people that say that the umnum is attempting to improve on the perfection of the sebenza. And since it's impossible to improve on perfection, it just can't deliver on that promise.

But either way, you will be getting a knife worth every penny.

I've handled Sebenza for a few minutes back in last year. It belongs to my friend. It has dog paws engraved on the handle. I loved it so much. Maybe I should buy either one of them first then pursuit for another if my bank manager agrees.
 
Welcome! I would go with the large sebenza, as this is what I did and I love mine very much. I dont think you will be dissapointed with either though:)

I love using the umnumzaan, it's a great knife, but could be kind of scary looking when compared to a sebenza. I really like sebenza's too. difficult choices my friend, difficult choices

I would buy both but my fund doesn't say so...I guest I'll buy Sebenza first then I'll get the Umnumzaan. Wish me luck!
